This proposal is tailor-made for you and the family or friends staying with you. It’s an opportunity to improve your English with an experienced and qualified teacher in a personalized, calm, and creative learning environment. 

Methodology

Classes are based on communication and conversation. The teacher’s main objective is to support her students to help them gain confidence when speaking in English, and at the same time improve their grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and listening comprehension naturally. These classes are suitable for all levels and can cater to different levels at the same time.

English in Action

Designed for adults who want to improve their level with real life practice in an everyday environment.  In this course, oral comprehension and expression will be developed through different dynamic activities such as (but not limited to): 

  • Walking and talking while we visit different natural spaces or discover local Romanesque architecture
  • Making American cookies and cakes in the kitchen
  • Planting or harvesting in the garden
  • Playing question games 

Family English

Designed for families with children aged 6-14 who want to improve their English together. In this course, oral comprehension and expression will be developed through activities focused on creativity, nature and play. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • American children’s games and board games
  • A treasure hunt
  • The identification of local flora and fauna 
  • Arts and crafts or baking activities, such as learning how to make authentic American cookies or brownies

Business English

Designed for people who need to improve their professional English. Depending on the students’ needs, possible topics will include:

  • Presentations, meetings, negotiations and networking
  • Communication by telephone, video conference and email
  • Looking for a job: improve your CV and prepare for a job interview
  • Hot topics: soft skills, teamwork, remote work, CSR, understanding cultural differences and strategies for improving communication between colleagues and/or clients

All courses follow the same format.

Friday 18:00-20:00:  Welcome to the first session of your English Course! This is the time for us to get to know each other and collaborate to organize the topics to discuss and the activities to do during your stay.
** Please note that you can access the property earlier, at 16:00.

Saturday 10:00 -13:00: English Course

During the morning session, students will be invited to a coffee break or snack.

Saturday 17:00 – 20:00: English Course

Sunday 10:00 – 12:00 English Course

**Check out will be pushed back to 13:00 to allow students to participate in the last session and have time afterwards to pack and check out.

In the last session, each participant will receive a personalized report highlighting their strengths and indicating areas in which they could improve. Each report will include references to learning materials or suggestions for podcasts and videos in English.

FAQ's

Yes, so long as you do a minimum of 10 hours of class over the course of the weekend and that this has been mutually agreed upon prior to arrival.

No, at this time we do not offer this service. Casa Puixico is an independent guest house with its own kitchen
