Calvera: A Unique Corner of Ribagorza

Calvera (Huesca) is a small mountain village at 1,200 meters, offering breathtaking views of the Sierra de Sis, the Turbón massif, and the Isábena Valley. With fewer than ten year-round inhabitants, it maintains a peaceful atmosphere with no through traffic.

Highlights include the Romanesque Church of San Andrés, the 11th-century Obarra Monastery, and nearby Roda de Isábena. Trails beginning in the village connect to forests, mountains, and nearby valleys, while the strategic location allows for day trips to places like  Aínsa, Benasque, The Boí Valley, and Posets-Maladeta Nature Reserve.

The Rural Vacation Rental

Casa Puixico is an independent 47m2 apartment located on the first floor (second floor in the U.S.) of a traditional mountain house, accommodating  up to 4 guests. Casa Puixico is an adventurous, active travelers paradise! I have stayed there three times and cannot wait until my fourth visit! It’s hard to believe that a place so rich in history, architecture and unimaginable natural beauty still exists today. of course, Barcelona is great for a few days… But the real adventure starts when you arrive at the ancient village of Calvera! Your host Family is next door… and I might add that they are incredibly hospitable, super cool, kind, friendly, Bilingual and knowledgeable about all aspects of the region…but Casa Puixico is a beautiful, new, clean, separate and private accommodation. I truly feel that this magical spot could be all things to all people…From your door, there are innumerable hiking options from high peaks…exploring abandoned villages… waterfalls… Ancient stone churches… During the warm season …if I got hot hiking in the hills… a crystal clear, turquoise blue stream, rushing out of the mountains was Never far away…the perfect place to cool off. For the foodies, there are some incredible restaurants not far … in fact, I consider myself to be a “foodie” … my partner, and I had the best meal of our life at a restaurant named Callizo, in the village of Ainsa …a short drive from Calvera. Whether you are just looking to relax in a quiet village, nestled in the mountains or are the super active type that likes hiking and adventure, there is no doubt you will fall in love with this magical place and it’s incredible hosts! - Review posted on Google

Cancellation Policy

 

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. Refunds depend on how many days in advance the cancellation is made:

  • More than 20 days before arrival: 100% refund of deposit

  • Between 11–20 days before arrival: 50% refund of deposit

  • 10 days or less before arrival: deposit non-refundable

This policy ensures Casa Puixico’s availability while providing flexibility for guests.

  • No parties or events

  • Only guests included in the reservation may stay overnight
